Women's Health

Description

This workshop introduces students to careers in women's health, with a focus on the field of obstetrics and gynecology (OB/GYN). Students will explore what obstetricians and gynecologists do, how their roles overlap, and the various careers within women's health. Education requirements, salary expectations, and common practice settings for OB/GYNs will also be covered.

Objectives

  1. Understand the field of women's health and key facts about it. 

  2. Outline the roles and responsibilities of OB/GYNs. 

  3. Differentiate between an obstetrician and a gynecologist, and understand their overlapping duties. 

  4. Discuss common conditions treated by OB/GYNs and the diagnostic procedures they use. 

  5. Explore various careers within women's health. 

  6. Understand the education requirements, salary ranges, and typical practice locations for OB/GYNs.
