Food

Description

 Students will be introduced to the social determinants of health and how it has a wide range of effects on people's health, functioning, and quality of life. Poor communities and rural areas are more likely to face food insecurity, depending on the population and community. Students will learn the importance that food plays in social determinant of health.  

Objectives

  1. Educate the students how the availability and sustainability of productive farming systems are important.  

  2. Gain understanding of the importance of access to food.  

  3. Learn how food insecurity affects the health of a community and individual.
