Health Care Systems

Description

In this unit we will be exploring health care systems as a social determinant of health. Access to healthcare is influenced by several critical factors, including insurance coverage, which enables individuals to afford necessary medical services. Having a primary care provider ensures that patients receive consistent and comprehensive care, while access to preventive care is essential for early detection and management of health conditions. The proximity to qualified healthcare providers, pharmacies, and medical supply stores plays a vital role in timely access to treatments and medications. Additionally, linguistic and cultural competency among healthcare professionals is crucial for effective communication and the delivery of culturally appropriate care.
