Virtual surgeries have become increasingly popular for training purposes.  Scenario:  You are a high school intern at a surgeon's office.  Many medical students and residents rotate through the surgeon's office.   The surgeon would like to create a "library" of virtual surgeries that can be reviewed by their learners before they step into the operating theater.  The information provided in the virtual surgery must be created from the first person point of view and cover the following:

  • Introduction to the type of surgery
  • Becoming sterile – washing and draping patient
  • What cuts will happen and tools will be used
  • Surgical procedure
  • Closing

Type of surgeon and surgery is your choice.  Create a video of your virtual surgery.  Be creative with the materials and resources you have at home.

Ideas of how to demonstrate your virtual surgery:

  • Draw each scene
  • Use clipart
  • Recruit family members
  • Stuffed animals
  • Puppets

Add as much detail as possible.
