Description
Students will get the opportunity to be introduced to what social determinants of health (SDOH) are as well as be provided relevant examples through a data driven presentation based on existing community reports. In addition, students will get the opportunity to further their knowledge about the impacts of SDOH in the Central Valley.
Objectives
Define Social Determinants of Health (SDOH)
Learn about the 6 Social Determinants of Health as outlined by the Kaiser Family Foundation.
Learn about existing social determinants in their community and provided local examples from Census.gov.
Learn about efforts to address SDOH in their community.
Discuss further efforts they can develop to address SDOH in their community.
