Early College Outreach to Become a Competitive Applicant 

Description

The Early College Outreach to Become a Competitive Applicant workshop provides 9th grade students the foundations to begin their college outreach. The workshop covers steps for students to get started on the right path to begin designing their future. In addition, this also briefly discusses the importance of GPA, grades, college cost and financial aid. Students will also be covered on a brief overview of the different types of colleges they can apply to. In addition, this workshop covers key guidelines that 9th grade students can do now to become a competitive applicant for college. 

Objectives

  1. Explain the important steps 9th grade students should take to get ahead on planning their future 

  2. Provide a brief overview about the importance of grades, college cost, and financial aid.  

  3. Briefly learn and cover the different types of colleges available to them 

  4. Cover key guidelines needed to become a competitive college applicant  

  5. Hear from current DA students about their high school journey's
